Prairie Trio #4, Quietude, was composed in the high Mojave desert, in the town of 29 Palms.  The quiet mornings in the desert are much like quiet mornings on the prairie.  Quietude is in one movement and exists in two versions: clarinet, marimba, and piano, and clarinet, string bass, and piano.  This version with string bass has yet to be performed.
