Enigmatic Fugue (Opens in a new tab)

Enigmatic Fugue is composed for the Prism Percussion Duo (Divesh Karamchandani and Elizabeth Hall) and pianist, Keisuke Nakagoshi. The fugue is “enigmatic” because the percussion part relies on melodic contour and rhythm as it presents subject, counter-subject, stretti, etc. Further enigma is created in all three parts by sequential presentations of the S and CS with idiomatic variations appropriate to each instrument’s unique technical capabilities.
