Flute Games was written on a poem by my colleague, Roger Blakely, and for Stephanie Reuer, mezzo soprano, and Kearn Froeble, flute. The text (and the music) is both a serious and humorous romp around the meaning of music. Each performer is called upon to play various instruments that are scattered about the stage including: string bass, bass drum, snare drum, xylophone, wood blocks and more.
