PERSEVERANCE (Opens in a new tab)

A single movement work commissioned by Music St. Croix and composed for the Stillwater Area High School Orchestra, conducted by James Hainlen. Composed in 1998, then titled “Straight Line,” with a reference to straight-line winds that occur in Minnesota during intense storms, and re-worked in 2025 with the title changed to PERSEVERANCE, representing the continuous energy of both the powerful winds and the human spirit musically represented in the perpetual motion throughout the piece.
