Composed for Alia Musica in 1978, the set of pieces includes a solo, a duet, a trio, a quartet, and three sextets. Each of the first six movements are given “name” titles for the six members of Alia Musica, a ’70s early music ensemble in Seattle, Washington. The members were: Carleton Macy, Julia Macy, Phyllis Hoar, Jerome Kohl, Martha Funderburgh, and Jim Funderburgh.
The parts are provided for movements 5 and 6. Players should play from score on the other movements.
